KRIBHCO welcomes Agriculture-Focused Union Budget

Cooperative major KRIBHCO has welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, saying it places strong emphasis on agriculture, farmers’ welfare and rural development, in line with the vision of a developed and self-reliant India.

The Budget has earmarked Rs 1.32 lakh crore for the agriculture sector, underlining the government’s commitment to strengthening farm productivity and resilience. A significant highlight is the 21 per cent increase in the allocation for the Ministry of Rural Development, aimed at accelerating village-level development and improving rural livelihoods.

According to KRIBHCO, the Budget’s focus on agricultural research, promotion of high-value crops, and creation of sustainable income opportunities for farmers will help address long-term challenges faced by the sector. Enhanced rural infrastructure and targeted development programmes are also expected to generate employment and improve living standards in rural areas.

Aligned with the Viksit Bharat vision, these provisions seek to empower farmers and ensure inclusive, balanced growth across rural India. KRIBHCO reiterated its commitment to supporting the cooperative movement and working closely with the farming community to translate these policy measures into tangible grassroots outcomes.
