Kozhikode which has been at the epicentre of news due to an unfortunate plane crash on Friday, also houses the biggest labour cooperative ULCCS in the country. Everybody at ULCCS is safe, said ULCCS officer Kishor on the phone Friday evening.
Explaining that the aircraft was a special one carrying stranded Indians from Dubai, Kishor explained that none of ULCCS employees or co-operators were in the plane.
Present in Kozhikode on the evening of the accident, ULCCS official expressed shock at the incident and said that the incessant rains not only led to the accident but also hampered the rescue operations.
It bears recall that at least 18 people, including the pilot and the co-pilot were killed as Air India Express flight IX 1344 overshot the runway at Kerala’s Kozhikode airport.
