T.K. Kishor Kumar, the representative of Kerala based Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS), has been elected as the Vice Chairperson of the ICA Asia-Pacific Agriculture and Environment Committee (ICAE).
He is the first Malayali to assume this prestigious position. Kishor Kumar currently serves as the Chief Project Coordinator of ULCCS.
The election took place during a meeting held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Prof. Madya Dato Abdul Rahman Abdul Razak Shaikh has been chosen as the new Chairperson of the committee.
ICAE is the regional committee of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) for the Asia-Pacific region, working to promote sustainable agriculture, enhance farmers’ income, strengthen agricultural cooperatives, and address climate change challenges. It functions under ICA Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP), the regional arm of the global ICA.
Kishor Kumar is also a Director of the National Labour Cooperative Federation of India (NLCF), the apex body representing over 47,000 labour cooperatives across the country.
He represents ULCCS in several national advisory committees formed by the Union Ministry of Cooperation and contributes to initiatives aimed at attracting youth into the cooperative sector.
