Kisan Yatra takes Awasthi to tribal belts of MP

Taking his Kisan Yatra forward IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi visited Hoshangabad and Jabalpur this weekend meeting farmers, inaugurating co-op exhibitions and preaching the importance of saving the soil.

Hoshangabad is 76 kilometer from the capital of MP. It was his 7th destination where he inaugurated the agriculture exhibition on Gramin Health Care organized by the joint venture of farmers cooperative.

In Hoshangabad Awasthi met MP Legislative Assembly speaker Sitassharan Sharma. Speaking on the occasion Sharma said “The farmers are important for the country and for farmers IFFCO is very important”.

After touring Hoshangabad, IFFCO MD moved his Sahakarita Kisan Yatra towards Jabalpur city in Madhya Pradesh, his eighth destination. Speaking to the farmers in Jabalpur, he said IFFCO is an articulation of farmers’ needs and aspirations. Some of IFFCO’s joint venture representatives speaking on the occasion re-echoed his views.

MD spent some time with tribal farmers and urged them to get involved in the Tribal Development Project. He also honored some of them for practicing advanced farming.

Dr U S Awasthi tweet read “IFFCO always with the Tribal farmers. IFFCO “Tribal Development Project” is the best example”. He also posted several photographs including inauguration of Cooperative exhibition, Health and check up camp on social media.

Earlier, Awasthi had a meeting with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and State Cooperative Minister Vishvas Sarang. Sarang who is on the board of National Labour Cooperative Federation praised IFFCO’s efforts in improving the lives of farmers.

Dr U S Awasthi wrote on his twitter wall “Meeting with MP Cooperative Minister Vishvas Sarang. He praises the efforts of IFFCO and the Cooperative model”.

Readers would recall Dr. Awasthi had earlier announced that he would undertake 110 such yatras across the country to meet farmers. He has completed eight such meetings so far.
