Kerala: Guv seeks clarification on co-op ordinance

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan will seek clarification on the ordinance brought in by the state government to amend the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act., reports the Times of India.

The Kerala state cabinet had earlier approved it. Opposition Congress had opposed it and its leader V D Satheesan had appealed to the governor not to sign the unconstitutional ordinance.

It is worth a mention that the ordinance is aimed to secure voting rights for the non-elected members in the election of the administrative committees of the regional cooperative milk producers unions.
