Kerala High Court has not allowed M. Ramanunny to function as MD of Kerala State Cooperative Consumers’ Federation (Consumerfed), reports Hindu.
The ruling came on an appeal filed by by O.V. Appachan, a managing committee member of Wayanad District Wholesale Cooperative Consumer Store, against a single judge’s verdict dismissing his plea against the MD.
According to the petitioner, in violation of the recruitment rules governing the federation the state government had in 2016 appointed Mr. Ramanunny, who was then General Manager of the District Cooperative Bank, Thrissur. As per the rules, since he was not a government servant he could not be appointed on deputation, the petitioner had argued.
