BJP leader Ramesh Katti and Subhash Dhavaleshwar were elected chairman and vice-chairman of the Belagavi District Central Cooperative Bank respectively. Unopposed, the two won the election last Saturday.
The election was marred by infighting among different factions of BJP but the party high command finally prevailed on these to have the unanimous decision of electing Katti and Dhavaleshwar.
Belagavi District Central Cooperative Bank is celebrating its centenary year. Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi announced the results at a press conference. He is also one of the directors of the Bank.
The chairman and vice chairman will have a five-year term.
