Karnataka Minister for Cooperation S T Somashekar said the cooperative banks in the State would distribute loans to 30 lakh farmers within this year and all 280 cooperative institutions are working to accomplish the goal, reports Hindu.
Speaking at a cooperative function in Madikeri, the minister said several changes are being brought about in the cooperative sector in order to help farmers.
The minister congratulated the Kodagu DCC Bank for doing well in disbursing loans. MLA Appachu Ranjan said the cooperative sector helps many enter politics.
