Karnataka co-ops join hands to celebrate Co-op Week

Karnataka State Cooperative Federation, Souharda Federal Cooperative, Karnataka State Credit Federation and Bengaluru’s other Cooperative Societies such as Souharda cooperative societies and Dharwad, Gadag and Haveri district cooperatives jointly celebrated the 70th All India Cooperative Week on 17th November 2023 at Kalghatgi town in Dharwad district.

The program was presided over by Labor Minister and Dharwad District In-charge Minister Shri Santosh S Lad. Speaking on this occasion, the minister said that cooperatives have been an integral part of the social and economic structure of India for decades.

There are 8 lakh cooperative societies in the country. Cooperatives have played an important role in alleviating poverty, creating employment and promoting equitable economic growth, the minister further said.

Special issues of Swabhimani Sahakari Monthly, special issue of Sahakar Weekly Karnataka State Souharda federal Cooperative Ltd., monthly, the Karnataka State cooperative federation weekly magazine Sahakhar Vaara were released by the Minister and President of KSSFCL Mr. G Nanjegowda.

On this occasion, KSSFCL, Cooperators and cooperative societies, 17 PAC societies, 17 Milk societies, 21 credit societies, 8 souharda cooperatives, 5 individual cooperators and many good societies were honoured. More than 5000 co-operators participated in the 70th All India Co-operative Week program.
