Karnataka Minister Shivanand Patil is being slammed by opposition leaders for his remark “farmers wish for drought to get their loans waived off”, New Indian Express reports.
Patil said this while speaking before the Suttatti Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society in Belagavi recently.
Opposition leaders including BJP president BY Vijayendra and farmer leader Kuruburu Santhakumar have termed the minister’s statement irresponsible.
Later, the CM has also disapproved of his minister’s statement and has asked him to be careful in the future.
