Kangra DM uses novel way of creating Covid awareness

At a time when officers are being suspended for beating citizens violating Covid discipline, Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) DM Rakesh Kumar Prajapati has hit upon a novel way of making people aware of Covid dangers.

The administration of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh has put a man dressed like a monster in the market in order to create awareness among people about Covid 19. The novel way adopted by the administration has drawn the media attention.

This has led to people becoming aware of the second wave of the pandemic and thus taking necessary precautions to keep themselves away from the corona infection. Officials called upon the people to “wear masks- preferably a double-layered mask, follow social distancing” and “wash their hands or use sanitisers frequently.

IFFCO PR Head Harshendra Verdhan Singh, who belongs to the area and is an expert in the field of advertising and marketing says “Traditional Media is being used perfectly by the DM to communicate in Rural Areas to raise awareness among people for this pandemic.”

“As we know how this virus is going deep inside the villages. Even after the emergence of new age mode of digital communications, these simple but effective means are used to raise awareness among villagers”, Verdhan added.

Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, a young IAS officer is leading from the front to tackle the heavy numbers of daily positive cases in the biggest district of Himachal Pradesh, revealed Harsh.
