Kangra Central Co-op Bank reins in NPAs

Kangra Central Co-operative Bank (KCCB) that operates across 5 districts of Himachal Pradesh has reduced its NPA from Rs 923.21 crore to Rs 834.23 crore by the end of the 2018-19 financial year, reports Hill Post.

Considering public sector banks’ NPAs are ballooning into a scandal , KCCB shines by contrast.  Established in 1920, the cooperative bank is celebrating its centenary.

 Dr Rajiv Bhardwaj, chairman of KCCB is quoted saying the bank has posted a profit of Rs 34.59 crore in the 2018-19 financial year.

In 100 years, the bank has opened 216 branches, 103 ATMs, has 13 extension counters spread over 18 Zonal Offices. The bank has a customer base of 25 lakh.
