Media reports from J&K say the state Secretary has asked for expediting registration of Cooperatives Societies in general besides Tourism Cooperatives, Women Cooperatives, SC, ST and ALC Cooperatives in particular.
The secretary urged officers to register at least 1000 new Cooperatives Societies as desired by the Lt. Governor. Secretary also wanted the Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies to have at least one cooperative as a model cooperative at the district level which will function as a link with other small-scale Cooperatives to encourage cooperative activities.
The secretary emphasized the crucial role of digitization in the rapid growth of the cooperative sector.
