The final list after withdrawal of names for the elections of Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank was made public on Saturday evening.
Out of 17 seats of Chairman and Directors, the election will be held for 14 seats, for which 120 voters are eligible to cast their votes in the election slated for 27th March 2023.
The seats for the board of directors have been divided into several categories which include, a director from state level co-op, three Directors professional STCCS, seven from Women (General), two from Women (Reserved), two Director (General) and a director from special co-ops category.
For three seats of Directors professional STCCS, only two nominations were filed and they were elected unopposed and one seat went vacant.
Intense fights are expected for the post of Chairman and Director (General category). For the post of Chairman, there are eight candidates whereas for the posts of Director from General category nineteen candidates are trying their luck.
The son of a venerable cooperator and a former Minister of Bihar, late Awadhesh Singh, Praful Singh, four time MLA Uday Shankar Singh alias Chunna Singh and Mrs. Vibha Singh, the wife of an Assistant Cooperative Registrar are important faces fighting the elections for the post of Chairman.
