“Janata” omitted its “GP Parsik Sahakari Bank” now

Thane based “Gopinath Patil Parsik Janata Sahakari Bank has changed its name to “GP Parsik Sahakari Bank” with the approval of RBI, as per the 1934 schedule. The word “Janata” has been omitted, of course with the permission of the RBI, claims UCB’s CEO.

The bank’s Chief Executive officer Sadanand Krishna Nayak said “The apex bank Reserve Bank of India has given us permission to change the bank’s name from “Gopinath Patil Parsik Janata Sahakari Bank ” to “GP Parsik Sahakari Bank ”.

The RBI notification released on the issue reads “We advise that the name of “Gopinath Patil Parsik Janata Sahakari Bank, Ltd., Thane” has been changed to “GP Parsik Sahakari Bank Ltd, Kalwa, Thane“ in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India,1934 by Notification DCBR.

The notification is dated September 21, 2017.

Earlier, talking to this correspondent the bank’s CEO said the bank will have more than 100 branches with a business mix of 10 thousand crore by 2020.

The bank was established in 1972 and as of now has more than 70 branches equipped with ATM facilities.
