As part of the Nayi Chetna 4.0 Campaign, the Ita Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd., Imphal East, under the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission, organised a one-day Awareness Programme on Gender Equality on Sunday at KSDO Hall, Kongpal Khaidem Leikai.

The programme highlighted key issues such as the recognition of women’s domestic and unpaid work as an economic contribution, the need for greater participation of women in decision-making, and ensuring women’s safety and mobility.

A special focus was placed on involving male members of SHG households, underscoring that gender equality is a shared responsibility.

The event saw active participation and constructive discussions, enriched by insights from resource persons including social scientist Dr. Dhanabir Laishram, MSCW Legal Advisor B. Supriya, and advocate Thiyam Rajkishore of MCPCR.
