Goa cooperative minister told the state assembly that the state govt has approached the RBI to relax restrictions the apex bank has imposed on the Mapusa Urban Cooperative Bank and Margao Urban Cooperative Bank, report local news outlets.
However, the minister said the state govt. is yet to decide about bailing these cooperative banks out. But he assured that the interests of about 2.8 lakh shareholders of the Mapusa Urban Cooperative Bank would be protected.
