Inspiring story of Souharda Sahakari Credit co-op

Co-operative soldiers are active improving the lot of women in various parts of the country without expecting accolades or appreciation and one such case is put in the limelight by the patron of Sahakar Bharati Satish Marathe in one of his posts on social media.

Marathe wrote” I am leaving for Heggada Devana Kote (Mysore) to participate in a gathering of SHG members. Over 1000 women volunteers are expected to attend the gathering.”

The event was organized by Gyana Shale Souharda Sahakari Credit Society which is an autonomous cooperative body and has empowered women from the economically weaker sections of society by offering them micro credit, says Marathe.

The micro credit scheme of the Credit Society has made a big impact and sown seeds of a socio – economic change. Though not unique, it stands out as a role model for its simple SOP that can be emulated by Credit Co-Ops across the country to make a lasting impact on lives of our weaker segments, he writes.

The activities of the Co-Op Society have been pioneered by a socially conscious engineer turned entrepreneur, Shri Sridhar Neelkant Rao and his Team, Marathe informs.

Responding to Marathe’s post an encouraged Sridhar writes “we are anxiously waiting to welcome you as you have inspired us to work for this socio economic transformation”.
