Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has successfully planted over 10 lakh trees under its ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, launched during the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
This campaign encourages individuals to plant a tree in honor of their mothers, symbolizing a commitment to environmental sustainability and fostering a deeper connection with nature.
The initiative has garnered widespread participation across India, with various state departments and educational institutions actively engaging in the campaign. Notably, Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in a tree plantation drive in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in environmental conservation.
Similarly, the Department of Food and Public Distribution organized plantation drives across multiple locations, including New Delhi and Kanpur, to promote green cover enhancement and sustainability.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign aligns with the United Nations’ theme for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” highlighting the role of cooperatives in advancing sustainable development goals and fostering inclusive growth.
Through this initiative, IFFCO not only contributes to increasing forest cover but also honors the nurturing spirit of motherhood, reinforcing the idea that environmental stewardship is a shared responsibility.
