An MoU was signed on Wednesday in the Ministry of Cooperation between IFFCO and IRMA for study, research and development work in the field of Cooperatives.
Prof. Umakant Das, Director, IRMA and Santosh Shukla JGM(CD), IFFCO signed the MOU.
Mr K K Tripathy OSD to Shri Amit Shah, Ministry of Cooperation, Prof Harekrishna Misra and Ms Madhavi Vipradas were present during the signing.
It bears recall that the Minister Amit Shah informed the House that efforts are being made for the establishment of a Cooperative University to firmly deepen the foundations of the cooperative movement in the country.
Though earlier, it was stated to be run by NCUI, conflicting reports on the same are coming with some saying IRMA has replaced NCUI as the agency to run the Co-op University. Indian Cooperative does not have confirmed news on the issue yet.
