IFFCO set to venture into Food processing in Punjab

Ever eager to diversify the fertilizer titan IFFCO is set yet again to launch a vegetable processing project in Samrala, Ludhiana in Punjab today on Thursday. The foundation stone laying ceremony  would be inaugurated by the state Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh.

The occasion would also see presence of IFFCO’s top leadership including its newly reelected Chairman B S Nakai, Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi and Joint MD Mr Rakesh Kapoor, among others.

Touted to be a project of its own kind CN IFFCO Frozen Foods is a project under “Invest punjab” a business strategy initiated by the state govt to encourage investment in Punjab. “The state govt is eager to lend all helps to the project”, said a top official.

Informed sources say that members of IFFCO which runs into crores have been demanding a project like this for a long time and keeping their wishes in mind the top leadership has decided to take a plunge.
