IFFCO, the world’s largest fertilizer cooperative, has strongly refuted recent claims circulating on social media and in sections of the press regarding the quality and legitimacy of its products. The clarification comes in the wake of raids conducted in Kishangarh, Rajasthan, where misleading narratives allegedly targeting IFFCO’s brand have emerged.
In an official statement, IFFCO emphasized that no IFFCO-manufactured fertilizers were found at the sites under investigation. The organization termed the ongoing misinformation campaign as baseless and urged farmers and the general public to continue placing their trust in IFFCO’s reliable and high-quality agricultural products.
The statement further clarified that the only IFFCO-linked product found at the raided locations was Sagarika Granule, a biostimulant manufactured by Aquagri, a joint venture of IFFCO. Sagarika Granule is widely popular among farmers for its effectiveness and is produced in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Government of India. Its formulation is based on technology provided by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI).
Raw materials such as Dolomite, Gypsum, Seaweed Powder, and Bentonite, which were also found at these sites, are standard components used in the granulation process of Sagarika Granule. IFFCO reiterated that there is nothing irregular or unlawful about their presence or usage.
Reassuring stakeholders, IFFCO concluded its statement with a strong appeal: “We once again urge all our farmers and partners to dismiss this misleading propaganda and continue to use IFFCO’s trusted fertilizers and biostimulants with full confidence.”
