IFFCO reaches out to farmers in Leh-Kargil

In a heroic move the largest farmers’ cooperative in the world IFFCO has sent a team of 12-14 men to Kargil and Leh carrying its fertilizer for the use of farmers there. It has taken the help of Indian Army in the process but the team did reach its destination on Sunday.

The team which also has social media activist and IFFCO’s PR Head Harsh Vardhan onboard is documenting each movement very well on the wall of Face Book and Twitter. One of latest tweet reads” Waiting for the Trucks carrying ?#?IFFCO ?#?Fertiliser to pass ?#?Zozila. It was a wait for nearly 2hours as ?#?Indian Army convoy was moving. The trucks will pass ?#?Drass ?#?Kargil & than will reach ?#?Leh’.

In another tweet the team also expressed its apprehension “moving towards Kargil, road is not encouraging; never thought it would be so fraught with danger but we are happy that IFFCO fulfills its commitment despite so many odds, salute to Indian Army and BRO”.

In a broken communication on phone due to poor signal Ankur Awasthy who is second in command to Harsha said “we have reached Leh on Sunday; send your questions through SMS as the voices are cracking. We would be back by Tuesday and would tell you the fantastic story of Leh and Kargil”
