Returning for a day to headquarters in Delhi from Dehradun, IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi embarked on his next destination. On Wednesday he was in Agra, Uttar Pradesh meeting farmers in his Sahkarita Kisan Yatra series. It was his 15th destination.
Awasthi has been sharing his experiences of the trips on social media: “We have to make farmers self-reliant and give them support to sell their produce at the minimum support price”, he asserted in one of his tweets.
He also inaugurated a cooperative exhibition on health check-up organized by one of the IFFCO affiliates in Agra. He
tweeted “Inaugurated the cooperative exhibition in Agra. Farmers health is very important”.
On this occasion, a separate stall had been setup for farmers to learn about cashless transactions, Awasthi wrote on his twitter wall. It was aimed at educating the farmers to buy seeds and fertilizer through cashless transaction.
