IFFCO: MD connects to youth in Pune

Continuing his journey to Maharashtra last week, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi and his team landed in Manchan in Pune and held a meeting attended by a large number of farmers and cooperators.

Considering a dwindling participation of youths and women in the cooperative movement worldwide, a concerned Awasthi was happy to experience an exception in that several youth and women had come to meet him and the IFFCO team to find out what does cooperative mean.

A jubilant MD tweeted on the youth theme and expressed his happiness on their participation. He said we need to empower our youth and take them along the highway of success and growth.

Awasthi was also touched by the emotional response of farmers of Maharashtra who felicitated MD with traditional Pagdi, besides other things. The video of Awasthi being tied with a Pagdi was later released on social media. In his tweet he said “love can do wonders and motivate one to do better”.

It was also an occasion when IFFCO MD returned the gesture by felicitating the farmers along with the prominent guests with IFFCO Shawl.

Amidst all this, Awasthi did not forget to convey his message to the farmers. Talking about IFFCO’s latest venture- Indian Cooperative Digital Platform he exhorted them to join the platform. The MD also mentioned about IFFCO’s organic venture in Sikkim.

As usual, the evening burst into cultural programmes where IFFCO’s theme song was played amidst dance and music. The team also went to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva at Bhimashankar temple.
