A cooperative desperate to generate new ideas IFFCO is busy having a brainstorming session. And the exercise is being led by none other than its Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi.
In this backdrop, the MD reviewed the working of the IFFCO Kisan – an arm of the farmers’ cooperative geared to offer detailed information on the whole gamut of agricultural operations. The unit is also helping the govt with its invaluable experiences.
Soon after the review meeting a gleeful MD expressed his satisfaction over the innovative ideas being generated by the farmers’ body to solve the problems of farmers at grassroots level.

Member-driven organizations and especially with a size as huge as IFFCO could become a hub of ideas and their experimentations, said one of the IFFCO former Directors to Indian Cooperative.

A chemical engineer by training, Awasthi has clocked enough time in cooperatives to be able to appreciate the potential of the giant cooperative for generating creative ideas. IFFCO has more than 40 thousand cooperative societies associated with it.
