In a recent interaction on a YouTube channel, IFFCO Managing Director Dr. U.S. Awasthi offered high praise for Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, describing him as a leader with an exceptional instinct for innovation and deep-rooted understanding of the cooperative movement.
Responding to a question about his frequent interactions with Shah due to the latter’s role as Cooperation Minister, Awasthi highlighted Shah’s openness to fresh ideas and his ability to back new initiatives, especially those rooted in the cooperative sector. “He has a nose for new initiatives,” Awasthi remarked, adding that Shah is not only receptive but also remarkably quick at identifying and resolving structural or bureaucratic bottlenecks that often plague the cooperative ecosystem.
Awasthi further noted that beyond his administrative prowess, Shah brings to the table a keen business sense. “He understands the cost and benefits of a new enterprise better than many seasoned businessmen,” Awasthi said, underscoring Shah’s ability to weigh viability and long-term sustainability, a rare trait in political leadership.
The IFFCO MD’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among cooperative leaders who see Shah as a transformative figure whose “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” vision is reshaping the role and relevance of cooperatives across India.
