IFFCO: Gowda has serious challenger this time!

This time round , one of IFFCO’s outgoing directors K Srinivasa Gowda may not find it easy to win as Uttam Patil from his own state Karnataka is challenging him in the IFFCO’ election. Patil’s candidacy is supposed to deal a body blow to his poll prospects. The election is scheduled for 10th May.

“I am an RGB member of IFFCO since 15 years but I am disappointed with Gowda”s behavior who never meet us and listened to our problems. He was not polite in his manners and he would not value us. So, I decided to contest the IFFCO election against him”,Patil explained why he is in the fray.

I am expecting that more than 45 votes will be cast for me and I am contacting each and every member for their support, Patil informed.

It is being reported that there are around 69 votes from Karnataka which fall in a single constituency. More than 40 percent RGB members are new comers. There is speculation that other aspirants from Karnataka including Halappa Achar, former Chairman of Karnataka State Cooperative Marketing Federation may also contest the IFFCO election.

It bears recall that the fertilizer cooperative IFFCO is presently going through the process of election and the first phase of it is over where it elected 847 delegates, 46 being women among them. Nomination for BoDs will begin from April 26 and the final election is scheduled for 10th May.

The distribution of forms will begin from 26th April and close on 3rd May. The list of candidates who file their nomination papers would be made public on 5th May.
