IFFCO Director inaugurates ATM

Pramod Kumar Singh, one of directors on the board of the largest cooperative body in the country IFFCO and Chairman of state cooperative Federation of Uttrakhand inaugurated an ATM of District Co-operative Bank Dehradun last week. Singh is also on the board of NCUI’s Governing Council.

The ATM belonged to DC store branch of District Co-operative Bank Dehradun and is located on Subash Road in Dehradun. Singh was the Chief Guest at the function. Chairman of the DCB K S Rana was also present on the occasion.

Serving as the growth engine for the farmers of the hill district, Dehradun District Cooperative Bank is offering cheap loan through its 21 branches spread across the area. And yet it earns profit- a marvel given the poor track record of the cooperative sector in the country.

In the last fiscal, the bank earned a net profit of about Rs 10 crore. Rana said “we are giving 20 percent dividend which is highest according to bye-laws to our 550 member societies.”

The Bank has also been adopting the latest technology. The bank chairman said “during my tenure I provided the facilities such as CBS, ATM, RTGS and NIFT in the bank and soon we are providing mobile banking facilities to our customers”, he said.
