Dileep Sanghani, Chairman of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and a senior Gujarat cooperator, has welcomed the Gujarat Budget 2026–27 announcement allocating Rs 24,022 crore for agriculture, farmer welfare and cooperation, calling it a “historic and transformative step” for the sector.
Reacting to the announcement, Sanghani said the substantial provision reflects the state government’s strong commitment to strengthening farmers and revitalising the cooperative movement. He noted that the allocation would help empower farmers, promote modern agricultural technologies and provide renewed momentum to cooperative institutions across Gujarat.
Sanghani expressed gratitude to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani and Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai for prioritising agriculture and cooperation in the state’s development agenda.
He further stated that the budget would serve as a milestone in ensuring farmers’ prosperity and accelerating the vision of a self-reliant Gujarat, with cooperatives playing a central role in rural economic growth.
