ICM Kannur organised a special two-day training programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Income Tax on January 15 and 16, 2026, for officials of Cooperative Banks (SCBs) and those handling taxation-related responsibilities in other credit cooperative institutions.

The programme aimed to enhance practical knowledge of tax compliance and familiarise participants with the latest tax procedures and regulatory requirements.

Special emphasis was placed on Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), with detailed sessions covering its applicability, accurate deduction, timely remittance, and statutory return filing. Participants were also guided through practical compliance aspects to help minimise errors and ensure adherence to current tax norms.

The training further covered recent updates in GST and Income Tax provisions relevant to the cooperative sector. Through interactive sessions and discussions, the programme sought to strengthen financial accuracy, transparency, and regulatory awareness among cooperative institutions.
