The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) hosted its Annual Conference of Vice-Chancellors and Directors on Tuesday at the NASC Complex, New Delhi.
Themed “Convergence for Action: Shaping Agricultural Research, Education and Extension for Viksit Bharat@2047,” the event gathered policymakers, academic leaders, and scientists to chart reforms for India’s agricultural future.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated and chaired discussions on overhauling the National Agricultural Research System (NARS). Ministers Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Bhagirath Choudhary also spoke on the occasion.
The agenda included high-level panel discussions and expert sessions focused on integrating research, education, and extension. The conference aimed to define strategic pathways for India’s agri-sector transformation by 2047.
