ICA-AP to launch Phase II of Co-op Legal Framework Analysis

The International Cooperative Alliance Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) has announced the launch of the second phase of its Cooperative Legal Framework Analysis (LFA) through a global webinar scheduled for today, Wednesday.

The session will bring together legal experts and cooperative practitioners from Africa, the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to share comparative regional perspectives on cooperative law and regulatory systems.

The Legal Framework Analysis is a key initiative aimed at assessing and strengthening cooperative legislation to ensure it remains enabling, inclusive and aligned with international cooperative principles.

According to ICA-AP, the second phase will build upon insights generated during the initial stage of the study, focusing on emerging challenges, governance standards and reforms required to support cooperative enterprises in diverse socio-economic contexts.

To ensure wider participation, interpretation will be available in English, Spanish and French. The webinar has drawn interest from several institutions, including the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and other cooperative stakeholders.

ICA-AP officials said the initiative underscores the importance of robust legal frameworks in fostering sustainable cooperative development worldwide.
