HP: Vigilance inquiry against co-op banks’ Chairmen-MDs

The BJP government in Himachal Pradesh will soon order a vigilance enquiry into the recruitment scandal in Kangra Central Cooperative Bank (KCCB), State Cooperative Bank and Himachal State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, reports The Tribune.

The cooperative Department wants immediately an FIR to be registered against all the three MDs, three chairmen, Secretary, Cooperation and Registrar, Cooperative Societies (RCS).

As per the dept’s recommendation, an FIR will be registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The recruitment scandal had figured prominently in the BJP’s charge-sheet against the Virbhadra regime. The party had alleged that nepotism and favoritism had been the basis of recruitment.
