HP’s urban development minister Suresh Bhardwaj called on the Union home minister, Amit Shah, and requested him to broaden the scope of coverage of central schemes of Farmer Produce Organisation (FPO) as cooperative societies, reports HT.
According to the minister, HP will promote FPOs in the cooperative sector. The union minister Shah was informed that Himachal Pradesh would register 100 FPOs in one year and connect with 10, 000 farmers through them.
It is said the FPOs in the cooperative sector will strengthen the post-harvest management infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.
