Helping farmers: Shah thanks PM for fertilizer subsidy

The changing prices of fertilizer in the international market usually lead to more pain for farmers as private players back home, raise the rates. The Government decision to protect farmers from this vagary has earned the laurels of Union Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah.

In a tweet Shah said “To keep the farmers free from the impact of changes in the prices of fertilizers in the international market, Modiji increased the fertilizer subsidy for Rabi crops and approved a subsidy of Rs 1.08 lakh crore for Urea and DAP for Kharif crops.”

Shah thanked the Prime Minister for the same “Thanks to @narendramodi ji for this farmer friendly decision.”

Cooperatives such as IFFCO or Kribhco have also in the past borne the brunt themselves without passing on the raised rates to their farmer-members.
