Haryana is preparing a new State Cooperation Policy to modernise and strengthen its cooperative movement, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi announced, media reports say.
A committee will be formed within a week to draft the policy, drawing on other states’ experiences while focusing on Haryana’s specific needs.
The policy will focus on enhancing rural development, housing, credit, and allied sectors. The state plans to diversify 34 primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) and affiliate the Centre of Cooperative Management, Rohtak, with Gujarat’s Tribhuvan Sahkari University to improve cooperative education.
Digitisation is advancing rapidly, with 518 PACS completing digital day-end processes, online audits, and 338 operating on the e-PACS platform, promoting transparency and efficiency.
