Haryana Sugar mills to have ethanol plants

HT, quoted Haryana cooperative minister Banwari Lal as saying the state government would install ethanol plants in co-operative sugar mills to strengthen their finances so they could pay farmers on time.

The minister said this while inaugurating the crushing operations at Karnal, Shahbad, Panipat and Kaithal cooperative sugar mills.

Sources say the ethanol plant to be set up at Karnal mill will have a capacity to generate 120 kilo-litre ethanol per day.

A 60 kilo-litre ethanol plant has already been set up at the Shahabad cooperative sugar mill and yet another ethanol plant of 90 kilo-litre per da will be set up at Panipat cooperative sugar mill.
