Haryana govt comes to the rescue of sugar co-ops

Haryana cooperation minister Manish Grover said the state government has given Rs 350 crore to enable cooperative sugar mills to pay their arrears of farmers for the crushing season 2018-19, reports PTI.

The sugar mills that have benefited from the govt’s largesse are in Panipat, Rohtak and Karnal.

The minister said all the outstanding dues would be paid latest by the next week, says an official press release.

The minister also underlined the fact that the Haryana govt. is committed to easing problems for the cane farmers in the state.
