In order to clear outstanding payments to the cane growers, the Haryana Government has released Rs 72.50 crore to the cooperative sugar mills for the crushing season 2014-15, according to a PTI report.
An official spokesman said in next two-three days, the payment would be available in cooperative sugar mills to be distributed among cane growers.
Giving details of the released amount, official sources said Rs 8.50 crore each has been released to Cooperative Sugar Mill Kaithal, Jind, Panipat and Gohana, Rs 8.37 crore each has been released to Cooperative Sugar Mill Rohtak, Sonepat, Meham and Karnal and Rs 5 crore has been released to Cooperative Sugar Mill Palwal.
