Quoting govt sources, Indian Express says procurement of millet and paddy through cooperative bodies in Haryana has been successful ensuring the economic welfare of the farmers of the state.
Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation(HAFED) has procured a massive 5 lakh quintals of millet.
Payments are being made directly into farmers’ bank accounts within 72 hours via the RTGS system.
Earlier, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had instructed HAFED, a cooperative federation, to engage in commercial millet procurement.
