Gujarat UCB Fed hosts CGTMSE Awareness Program

The Gujarat Urban Co-operative Banks Federation organised a one-day awareness and interaction programme on the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) on December 12, 2025, at its office, aimed at strengthening the credit delivery capabilities of Urban Co-operative Banks.

The programme opened with an online presentation by Ms. Sangeeta Poojari, Faculty member from CGTMSE, who explained the operational framework, eligibility norms and benefits of the credit guarantee scheme. The session, conducted via Google Meet, was followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment that addressed practical concerns of participating banks.

This was followed by a presentation by the National Urban Cooperative Finance Development Corporation (NUCFDC), which showcased the Loan Origination System (LOS) designed for Urban Co-operative Banks. The presentation highlighted how digital loan processing can improve efficiency, transparency and compliance in lending operations.

In the concluding session, Dr. Saha spoke in detail about the initiatives of the NAFCUB Taskforce and outlined emerging opportunities for expansion and sustainable growth of Urban Co-operative Banks in a changing financial landscape.

The programme saw active participation from around 60 officials representing 30 Urban Co-operative Banks from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts, leading to meaningful discussions and constructive interactions throughout the day.
