Gujarat Registrar of Cooperative Societies D A Shah (IAS) visited the headquarters of Gujarat State Cooperative Agriculture & Rural Development Bank, which is popularly known as Kheti Bank last week and took stock of the activities of the bank.
He was warmly welcomed by the bank MD K.B Upadhyay and Joint Managing Director V M Chaudhari and others.
On this occasion, JMD Chaudhari made presentations on the functioning and progress of the Bank. He discussed various issues related to the bank and sought support of the Government such as issuing block guarantee for refinance from NABARD, interest subvention scheme for long term borrowers of the bank, deposit insurance scheme for depositors, computerization support etc.
It bears recalling that Shah has been recently appointed as the Cooperative Registrar and now he is busy touring different state co-ops to get an idea of how they performed.
