Giuseppe Guerini from Italy has been elected the new president of Cooperatives Europe.
The election took place during the General Assembly in Antalya, Türkiye, from June 1 to 3, 2025.
Guerini has vast experience in the cooperative movement. He has served as president of Cecop–Cicopa Europe and vice-president of Cicopa.
He is also a member of the European Economic and Social Committee. Guerini was nominated by DGRV (Germany), Coop FR (France), and Febecoop (Belgium).
He replaces Petar Stefanov of Bulgaria.
Guerini stressed the need to defend economic democracy and make the co-op voice heard.
