The Government of India has extended the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay SanraksHan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) Scheme until 2025-26 to ensure fair prices for farmers and stabilize essential commodity prices. The scheme includes Price Support Scheme (PSS), Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS), Market Intervention Scheme (MIS), and Price Stabilisation Funds (PSF), administered by different departments.

Under PSS, the government approved soybean procurement in seven states for Kharif 2024-25, benefitting 8.46 lakh farmers. Similarly, groundnut procurement in seven states has supported 4.75 lakh farmers. Procurement deadlines were extended in some states to benefit farmers.

To boost pulse production and reduce imports, the government will procure Tur, Urad, and Masur up to 100% of state production for 2024-25 and continue this policy for four more years to achieve self-sufficiency.
