A group of 21 second-year M.Com (Cooperative Management) students from The Gandhigram Rural Institute, Tamil Nadu, visited National Cooperative Union of India in New Delhi, for an immersive learning experience.
Accompanied by faculty members Dr. C. Pitchai and Dr. M. Jansirani, the visit aimed to provide practical exposure to the functioning and governance of apex cooperative institutions.
The session commenced with Executive Director Rajeev Sharma welcoming the students and highlighting the strong collaboration between NCUI and GRI. He underscored NCUI’s pivotal role in strengthening the cooperative movement, especially in the evolving landscape following the establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation.
An insightful session by Dr. V. K. Dubey, Managing Director, COBI, further enriched the visit, as he explained cooperative policies and model bylaws, giving students a deeper understanding of governance frameworks.
The visit proved highly enriching, equipping students with real-world insights and reinforcing NCUI’s commitment to advancing cooperative education.
