Rajasthan Principal Cooperation Secretary and Registrar of Cooperative Societies Manju Rajpal announced that the state government is committed to establishing Gram Seva Cooperative Societies in all remaining village panchayats, as per the recent budget announcement.
This move is aimed at strengthening the cooperative network and extending the benefits of cooperative schemes to a larger population.
While addressing a review meeting via video conference from the Secretariat, Rajpal emphasized expediting the formation process to achieve 100% targets before the stipulated time frame.
She informed that the norms for the formation of multipurpose Gram Seva Cooperative Societies have been relaxed by 50%, reducing the minimum required number of members to 150 and the minimum share capital to Rs 1.50 lakh, facilitating easier establishment.
She instructed officials to inform Panchayati Raj representatives and district CEOs about this relaxation and involve Panchayati Raj and Revenue Department officials in the process. Proposals for society formation should be promptly submitted for approval.
Rajpal noted that since April 1, 118 new societies have been formed and called for regular monitoring by Additional Registrars. Special strategies will be developed for districts with higher targets and areas with mining activity or low farming populations, including the formation of women-led and tribal region societies.
