Govt gives details of NAFED-NCCF procurements

National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF) procured 3,66,000 MT onion from Maharashtra in 2023-24 FY and 2,50,000 MT in 2024-25.

Besides, in the F.Y. 2023-24, total procurement of tomato is 391.532 MT from Karnataka (Bangalore) and 509.917 MT from Maharashtra.

Whereas, National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) procured 2.85 lakh MT onion in 2023-24 and 1.75 lakh MT onion during 2024-25 (as on 17th July 2024) from the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

In the F.Y. 2023-24, Nafed procured a total of 320.016 MT from Andhra Pradesh.

The procurement of fruits and vegetables directly from the farmers is done majorly by the State Governments.

The details were shared by the Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.
