Govt boosts ‘Namo Drone Didi’ with fresh support
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Government has strengthened support for the Namo Drone Didi Scheme, aimed at expanding livelihood opportunities for rural women while modernising farm services. With an outlay of Rs 1,261 crore for 2023–24 to 2025–26, the scheme enables selected Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to provide drone-based rental services to farmers.

The drones will be used for efficient application of fertilizers and pesticides, reducing labour and improving productivity. Under the initiative, SHGs receive financial assistance covering 80% of the cost, up to Rs 8 lakh per unit.

The enhanced push is expected to accelerate adoption of agri-tech while empowering women as key stakeholders in rural economic growth.
