The Government has taken proactive steps to safeguard fertilizer production and ensure uninterrupted availability across the country despite disruptions in natural gas supplies, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Smt. Anupriya Patel, informed in a written reply.

She stated that contingency measures, including efficient gas allocation, prioritization of urea plants, and close coordination with fertilizer manufacturers, have been implemented to minimize the impact of supply constraints. The government is continuously monitoring production levels and supply chains to prevent shortages during peak agricultural seasons.

Additionally, efforts are being made to maintain adequate buffer stocks and streamline distribution to ensure timely availability to farmers. These measures aim to stabilize the fertilizer sector and support agricultural productivity nationwide despite ongoing energy-related challenges.
